How Many People Think Bush is an Idiot

Anybody no who Tom Freidman is. A journalist who has covered the MiddleEast and worldwide social and political issues for over 30 years. He is greatly respected by all sides, because he does know the facts he has lived among many people and chronicled events with fairness and balance.

He was on T.V. yesterday and was asked why the hatred by some towards the U.S. and you want to hear a fair and rational response. He said Every country in the middle east is ruled by an oppressive government except Israel and oppression and lack of freedom over many years Breeds HATE! in the people you couple this with something it seems certain people want to hide their eyes from JEALOUSY! because we are a prosperous people and strong nation with freedom.
Most people want what we in the west have. Especially what the U.S. has. Ask most he says and they want our prosperity and freedoms and they admire us in many ways. But hate built up with no outlet for their frustration with this envy leads to a hate for us. Yes this is true and we no it because all of us if put in the same position would react the same. We are all naturally jealous and envious and can be hateful.

He made it clear America is not responsible for the condition of these countries, that is upon the shoulders of their leaders. Even the leaders in the region who are well off do not give a rip about those others around them only when they can use their anger as an outlet towards us for their own interests. But he says we have to do a better job at understanding their plight and come across in a more humble and compassionate fashion. And we America can do a better job at setting a proper example.

He made it clear their is an irrational double standard in these countries they want our help in many ways but they do not like to take our advice well you cannot have your cake and eat it too. America I am sorry to dissapoint many people, has the BURDEN put upon it in many ways by the world yes it is true they look to us for social clarity and financial help and at times even Muscle to achieve their goals.

America is Damned if they do and Damned if they do not. If we said to heck with the world guess what they would be on us so fast because we turn a blind eye to their plight it has happened a million times but if we give our strong opinion and have expectations for them they say get out of our face. Sorry you cannot have it both ways.

Also those who make irrational moral unequivalent statements think before you speak.
If you do not like George bush fine but these statements like "well he is as Evil as Hussein" is pathetic at best. Use some common sense. If you hate him because he is a republican or you wanted gore or because he supports Israel or whatever fine state it clearly but stop with the absurdly foundless comments. Remember much of the world has not liked us long before Bush was in office.
Bush is not the issue these problems have been around for along time. When there was a democrat or republican in office.


He also said like it or not much of the hatred towards us and other western countries is not because we are big and strong it comes out of an irrational twisted religious extremism that looks at us as wicked and not up to par. Christianity along with other faiths are targets for extremists perverted mindset. Look at the Sudan as a perfect example of this. Hundreds of thousands of christians killed because of their faith.

How insane is it that Arafat is a billionaire and so is Hussein...meanwhile, their people starve and we get effing blamed for it.

I have YET to see one single sign that says "Give the money back, Arafat".

The protestors come from a brainwashed state, brainwashed by years in bad schools with bad teachers teaching them not to think things through. Like the poor mistaken girl who was run over by a bulldozer in Palestine...why was she even there in the fist place? because she went to a college that is so far out in the left field that there is no truth on campus to be found, only relativism.

Also, there was a fellow of the left Michael Lerner, a leftist editor of Tikkun, who was not even allowed to speak at one of these ANSWER America-bashing rallies.

This is just one instance of the undercurrent of jewhating going on that people like Rachel Corry do not care to acknowledge...just listen to what the "arab-Street" has to say about Jews and you should get a clearer picture of what is happening over there.

i have seen thomas freidman and apperently he has a show on the discovery channel on the 26th i think..ive seen him a few times while watching fox news.. i agree he has a very balanced veiw of this whole situation... these problems have been in the middle east since early old testement days..i also second the idea that if you are going to be anti war then please have a clear thought that doesnt insult or beg the question, clinton spoke of irac with the same sense of urgency that the bush admin has, but like a lot of democrats the breeze wasnt blowing hard enough in that direction..i have seen the middle eastern political/radical problems cause stress to that whole area since i was a boy, always blamin america while there own leadership seemed to almost be proud at how ruthless it people could be,the us has held back for so long ...dictators are like a cancer that needs to be killed, in order to do this some damage needs to be done to surrounding cells. todays air strike almost sickened me, it was scary, but that fear needs to be recognized as the great deterent that it is,bush wasnt playing around at all when he said terrorism is the new american war, we stopped finances,got rid of the taliban freeing afghans, and now have a strangle hold on al queda,saddam had every opportunity to get his ass out of our sites but he allowed himself to be next, its not our fault that the un couldnt back up its own words...this group of diplomats does nothing but try to keep united states from making any moves...we have consistently shown that when our national interest and humanitarian effort meet....there we are, we take a little off the top.....who doesnt ... its to be expected.. get over it

to see that this war is illegal... is idiotic.. pleeeeez inform yourself and read the documents.. read resolution 685 and 1441...the facts speak volumes .... tell us all of you anti war folks .. what could we as a world people do to make saadam disarm... he invaded kuwait he had to surrender in 1991...res 685...and he had to disarm or face further conflict... 12 years later the conflict is here...
